Hey everyone,
Every IEM under $400 is in danger, and the reason is a $199 IEM: the Kiwi Ears KE4. This is my first collaboration with the company. They sent a sample for review, and the opinions are my own.
Who is it for?
- Most users, even those who don’t know which signature suits them, because the tuning is safe.
Strengths
- Micro detail retrieval is very strong, and you can improve it with tips, cables and an impedance adapter plug.
- The 3D feel is beautiful and gives you a sense of how sounds move.
- For gaming the depth is exceptional, and distance cues are exceptional.
Weaknesses
- During explosions and loud moments, some details and footsteps disappear.
- For gaming only, there are cheaper options with similar performance.
- Its best performance was on one source, and on the others it dropped a little.
Verdict
Simply put: yes, as long as you like this sound signature.
Note: this review is from 2024, so the price may have changed.
