TRN BT20S PRO Bluetooth Adapter Review

The video is in Arabic.

Hey everyone,

The TRN BT20S PRO is a Bluetooth adapter (DAC and amp) for IEMs. Thanks to Light Up, who sent the unit for review and comparison. Bluetooth 5.0 with a Qualcomm QCC3020 chip, and the 700 mAh case charges it about 8 times, with about 9 hours per charge according to the company. There are two mics per side.

Who is it for?

• Anyone who wants to turn their wired IEM into Bluetooth and benefit from swappable connectors.

Strengths

• The connector can be swapped for any type (2-pin, MMCX and others), and extras are about $10: as far as I know, it’s the only device with this feature.
• Its effect on the sound is barely noticeable, and it didn’t affect the soundstage.
• A nice, light design, and the hook is flexible and adjustable.
• The connection range is about 10 meters with no obstacles.

Weaknesses

• A connection issue: if the main connection is on the left piece, there are dropouts, delay and frequent disconnects.
• Loud, audible hiss before and after playback and between quiet passages.
• I didn’t notice the noise cancelling the company talks about.
• The case has no room for the IEM and no charging light.
• The charging port is deep and only holds with the included charger.
• There’s no app, you can’t control volume from the buttons, and the connection suffers with lots of wireless signals around.

Verdict

The swappable connector idea is excellent, but the connection problems, the hiss and the charging port are clear flaws.
