Hey everyone,

This is my review of the Anker Soundcore Life Q30, a closed-back Bluetooth headphone with active noise cancelling (ANC). It was about $80 at the time of the review.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone who wants a Bluetooth headphone with excellent noise cancelling and long battery life, mostly for YouTube and calls, and who isn’t too picky about sound.

Strengths

  • The noise cancelling is really excellent for the price, and the battery lasts about 40 hours with ANC on and 60 hours without it.
  • Light and comfortable for long sessions, and the treble is the best part: smooth, with no harshness and no sibilance.
  • The phone app has an EQ and a sleep mode, which I liked.

Weaknesses

  • The bass is way overdone, especially the mid-bass. It covers the small details, and vocals sometimes sound like they’re coming through a pipe.
  • The box says Hi-Res, but it only supports AAC, and wired it performs worse and you lose the EQ.

Verdict

If sound isn’t your priority and you want noise cancelling and battery life at a good price, get it. For music, I don’t recommend it.

Note: this review is from 2024, so price and availability may have changed.
