And I used the stock cable that comes with the headphone .

Let’s start with the short version of my experience with it over the past two months ..

Pros :
– The design and the comfort .. and it’s easy to take around .. I can even say it became one of the headphones I took with me when traveling during the testing period .
– This Clip-On type, the kind that hangs on the ear, is known for not giving a decent amount of bass .. but this one, and I say it with full confidence, managed to break that rule / hats off to Aune for this achievement .
– The sound quality is totally unexpected .. I can even say I was shocked the first time I tried it / resolution – detail – bass – air – separation – imaging .. of course don’t compare it to over-ear headphones or an iem .. personally I think it’s the best in its class, though I haven’t tried many headphones of this type .
– Easy to drive .
– The included cable is very high quality and I don’t see any need to replace it .
– The safe and fairly balanced tuning will suit a very large group of users .

Cons :
– It leans a bit on the heavy side .. might not suit some people .
– Not for users looking for big bass / exceptional detail / a closed-back headphone .
– It leaks sound, meaning if you turn it up, whoever is near you will hear what you’re listening to .
– When I first started using it, it caused me pain at the top of the ear where it hangs (shown in the picture below) – it starts after about an hour of use and it’s still there but it got lighter once I got used to it ..

First up : the sound performance :

Sound signature :
Warm neutral with a slight bass boost .. I see it as one of the safest sound signatures .

Note :
So I don’t have to keep repeating it : my rating doesn’t compare it at all with over-ear headphones or an iem
If I say excellent or perfect, I mean compared to this type of headphone, the Clip-On

The Bass – low frequencies :
-The Sub-Bass (20-80Hz):
Surprisingly : deep / very reasonable rumble /excellent air / excellent, tight control / the amount is amaaaaazing for this kind of headphone (it doesn’t reach the level of over-ear headphones) / there’s a clear roll-off but it doesn’t affect
– The mid-bass (80-300Hz) :
The control is great / the amount is excellent – more prominent than the sub-bass and ahead of it / doesn’t bleed into the frequencies above it /normal speed / I liked how clear it is when the track calls for it / very good detail .

The Mids (300-4K) – mid frequencies :
Lower Mids (300–800Hz)
–
Voices here are natural and warm / they have weight – personally I see it as perfect / wonderfully balanced / cohesive
– Nothing thin or light about them
– No bass bleed .

Upper Mids (1k–4kHz)
– The headphone focuses on this area / meaning it’s pushed forward past neutral – but this forwardness isn’t annoying (keep in mind this is something I don’t prefer – even so I didn’t feel any annoyance from it) .
– It doesn’t suffer from annoying or aggressive harshness and doesn’t cause fatigue on long listening sessions .
– Great detail / I can say it’s smooth and comfortable and doesn’t hide any detail, in other words smooth but detailed

The Treble (4k-20k) – high frequencies :
– Calm and smooth and doesn’t cause any fatigue = Non-fatiguing
– No sharpness at all
– It doesn’t suffer from Sibilance, or whistling as some people call it .. the kind you get on S and T sounds .
– Sounds here are clear and clean .
– The sparkle level is a bit low = not for treble heads .
– Extension into the high frequencies is very good .
– Detail here is also very good .
– Air is good .
– Balance-wise it’s excellent – less forward than the mids and about level with the bass .

Moving on to the technical performance :

– Soundstage
Excellent (for this kind of headphone) : wide and the depth is very good

– Layering
The spacing between them is clear, very good

– Separation
Excellent

– Imaging
Direction : very good
Distance, far and near : excellent

– Resolution (by this I mean how close the sounds are to real life)
Excellent

– Clarity
Very good

– Micro-detail retrieval
For its class it’s excellent / but if you compare it with other classes I’d say good

– 3D presentation (how sound is spread across the soundstage in 3D)
Very good – and it’s not a flaw / this design usually has less of a holographic feel

Gaming with it :

I don’t see it as a good fit for competitive games for several reasons, the main one being that the detail retrieval isn’t at the level this kind of game needs .
As for story games : it does perfectly fine with them – fun

Final notes on my experience :

This headphone gives a new experience to the audio hobbyist .
Will you like it or not, sadly I can’t say, but speaking for myself I loved this experience in every detail

Do I recommend buying it :
If it’s going to be part of a collection or a group of headphones you have, yes, absolutely, you’ll get a new experience with it and it has its own vibe, as they say .
But if it’s going to be your only headphone : honestly no, I don’t recommend it, because with this type of headphone I don’t think there’s a middle ground, you’ll either love it or hate it (I mean the way you wear it) but as for the sound, I see it as really excellent and it has its own special kind of fun …

And to wrap up ..
Once again, thank you to @auneaudio for giving me the chance to try this work of art ..

Regards ..
Naif
