Oriveti OH700VB: Magical Sound

The video is in Arabic.

Hey everyone,

Oriveti has been around since 2015, and as soon as I saw the OH700VB’s measurement, I contacted them and asked for a review sample. Thanks to the company for sending it, and the review is my own opinion with no influence. Seven drivers per side: a 10 mm dynamic for the bass, four balanced armatures for the mids, and two for the treble. 12 ohm and 112 dB/V sensitivity according to the company, a 2-pin connector, and a cable with swappable plugs (2.5, 3.5 and 4.4). It has a switch to control the bass level. It was $700 at the time of the review.

Who is it for?

• Anyone who wants an all-round $700 IEM for music, monitoring and movies, with a safe tuning most people will like.

Strengths

• The switch changes the bass noticeably (about 20%): neutral when back, mild V-shape when forward.
• The imaging is 11 out of 10: one of the most precise I’ve heard, and layering and separation are 10 plus.
• Detail and micro detail clarity are 11 out of 10.
• The best bass extension I’ve heard: I heard down to 10 Hz. The sub-bass is rumbly, and it presents the bass like a layer wrapping the rest of the sound.
• The mids are 11 out of 10: natural and balanced with no bass bleed, and among the most beautiful sound placement.
• The treble is balanced and sparkly with no sibilance or harshness.
• Really light and comfortable, and the cable is excellent.

Weaknesses

• Sub-bass layering doesn’t match its price on 80 to 90% of sources.
• Be careful with the switch: it could break from the smallest drop.
• The treble extension stopped at 16500 Hz, and I’d expect 20000 at this price.
• It’s affected a lot by the source, especially the bass. Not for treble heads.
• For gaming only, I don’t recommend it at this price.

Verdict

One of the very few excellent all-round options at $700, so I definitely recommend it. My best result was with a pure silver cable and a neutral source.

Note: this review is from 2024, so the price may have changed.
